Uggs will not smell or get nasty from wearing them without socks it is why Ugg recommends it. I have worn Uggs for over ten years without socks and have never had a pair smell nor have friends or family.
The reason is that Ugg are sheepskin which regulates temp when against bare skin so they are actually warmer without socks but they also stop feet from getting hot and sweating up to Ugg rates 80F. Sheepskin is also antimicrobial so even if you did sweat some in them which you shouldn’t they still won’t smell.
